Plagiarism Essay
Plagiarism is the act of taking or copying someone else's work, without properly citing it.
Plagiarism is a problem in schools because kids take work that is not theirs without understanding or
comprehending what they put on their paper. They take credit for things they did not write and that is a
problem because that can become a bad habit in the future. The schools are not properly teaching them
how to cite, and if they did that in college and even high school, it could result in a big consequence.
A citations is a way to avoid plagiarising someone elses work. A Citation is a way to give credit to the
author. Citations let you take the authors work and make it your own. To properly cite your sources, you
must have the author, title of the source, publication date, publisher, and the location. These elements are
all essential for properly citing your sources. Although, people may want you to cite sources differently,
so it all depends on the situation. For example, if you did a quote from a website, you would have to put
the author and the website in a proper format.
