The Frenchman Louis Braille

, who lost his eyesight as a child,

developed the braille system at the age of 15 in 1824 to help


him read and write better. The system builds up single letter
using a six dot code for each letter or digit.
Using this system, supported by refreshable braille displays,
braille note-takers and braille embosser-printers it help visually
impaired to read and write internationally.
