When objects are edited using Modification

Assistant, the changes are logged and the assistant provides a detailed overview of all the changes in a clear, easy-toread manner. This simplifies the upgrade process to a great extent. Modification Assistant is available when you open
standard SAP objects in change mode for editing. To open a standard SAP object in change mode, the object should
be registered via SAP Support Portal using the SAP Software Change Reg-istration (SSCR) application. You can access
the SSCR application at https://support.sap.com/sscr. Youll need the required authorizations to use the SSCR
application. Once the object is regis-tered with SAP, youll be able to generate an access key from within the SSCR
application to modify the object. When you open any standard SAP object that wasnt previously modified by the
same user, the system will present a Register Object window (see Figure 20.1). You can click on the Perform
Registration in the SAP Support Portal link (see Figure 20.1) to register the object. The modification registration on
