But dares not deny them. She appreciates the life around her and What she has yet to do. She feels guilt and pain, And struggles to forgive. Once she told the world, The moment that changed her life. The moment that made her Think differently, act differently, Live differently. Whether it was on top Of a mountain or on Tuesday at a grocery store. She lives with integrity, authority, And conviction. She discusses what she Holds dear with an enduring Sense of passion. Risky she can be, yet Consistent too. Rhythmic she can be, yet Discordant too. She edifies others and makes Them stronger. She is a mentor, she is a guide. She is all of us.
I wanted to use personification to describe a mentor poem and
characterize it as a person. I feel that when a text is really guiding me and speaking to me, it is like it comes to life, and thats very powerful. But I also wanted to end on the idea that we could all be described the way the mentor is because were all capable of being great writers.
