Prior to starting his consulting business, Dr. Redus was an Associate Professor of Petroleum Engineering at the University of Tulsa (TU). Dr. Redus has worked the last 28 years in the petroleum industry, both in production research and field operations in the area of multiphase flow. His primary areas of interest are multiphase flow in well bores, flow lines and production equipment, multiphase meters and pumps, computational fluid mechanics, advance separation technology and paraffin and hydrate deposition in production flow lines and wells. He was in a supervisory capacity in production related industrial research for the last 10 years with Texaco’s Upstream Technology Department in Houston Texas, with the last four years as Director of Texaco’s live oil multiphase flows loop in Humble Texas. In 1976 Dr. Redus received a B.S. in Mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University in Kingsville, Texas. In 1980, and 1985, he received his MS. and Ph.D. degrees respectively, from the University of Houston, both in Mechanical Engineering. At TU, he was actively engaged in teaching, research in multiphase flow, and as executive director of Tulsa University Fluid Flow Projects (TUFFP). PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE Redus Engineering, Devine, TX. 4/00 - Present Consultant Dr. Redus conducts consulting projects in the area of oil and gas production optimization, flow assurance, surface facilities and general mechanical engineering. University of Tulsa, Tulsa, OK. 9/99 - 4/00 Associate Professor, Director TU Fluid Flow Projects As director for the University of Tulsa Fluid Flow Projects (TUFFP), a consortium of 25 ‘companies in the upstream oil and gas business, he was responsible for graduate studies in the area of multiphase flow in pipes and wells and overall direction of the test facilities. As a member of the Petroleum Engineering faculty, Dr. Redus taught Production Engineering Il and Advanced Production design. Texaco, Humble, TX. 1993-1999 Portfolio Manager, Multiphase Production Technology Areas of responsibly inolude Facility Manager of Humble Flow Facility, the largest live oil flow loop in the world at the time, with operating and capital budgets of S6MM and $1.4MM respectively, and with 18 Texaco and 5 contract employees as direct reports, Dr. Redus had management responsibility for completion of 25-30 projects per year in area of production and facility engineering. Technical projects included leading a peer review team of atificial lif for the Texaco UK Captain project, coordination of testing of the Hydraulic Submersible Pump (HSP) Cliff Redus CV.doc Page 1 of 3 28-Mar-12, Dr. Cliff Redus. Dr. Redus received the Texaco EPTD Outstanding Leadership Award in1990, 1993 and in 1997. Texaco, Humble, TX. 1992-1993 Portfolio Manager, Produced Fluids Areas of responsibly included the management of hydrate and paraffin research programs and ‘support of worldwide assets with produced fluids problems. Texaco, Aberdeen, Scotland, 1991-1992 Production Technologist Worked on North Sea production engineering for the Captain, Erskine, Tartan, Highlander and Petronelia fields. Texaco, Houston, TX. 1988-1991 Portfolio Manager Multiphase Production Simulation Dr. Redus managed a group of 15 engineers that conducted production simulation studies for Texaco upstream operation worldwide. In addition, the team was responsible for technical training in Nodal Analysis, gathering system optimization and flow assurance. Getty/Texaco, Houston, TX. 1981-1988, Research Associate ‘As a member of Getty/Texaco upstream research department, Cliff Redus developed cost effective steamfiood metering technology for 1,400 steam injection wells in the Kem River Field. He also conducted thermal and blackoil reservoir simulation studies and production Nodal Analysis studies. University of Houston, Houston, TX. 1980-1981 Instructor, Mechanical Engineering Department While working on his doctorate in mechanical engineering, Cif Redus was responsible for teaching undergraduate ME classes in fluid mechanics and statistics, Sonat Exploration, Houston, TX. 1978-1980 Reservoir Engineer Responsible for reservoir engineering for offshore GOM field including reserve estimation, regulatory reporting, project incremental economics and workover strategy. Mr. Redus also coordinated IT for the Reservoir Engineering Department. EDUCATION University of Houston, Ph.D. Degree, 1985. Mechanical Engineering University of Houston, MS. Degree, 1980.
