Have you completed your College Autobiography? (Naviance->About Me->College Autobiography form)
Do you know your college match level (very selective, selective, somewhat selective, non-selective)?
View the chart on Naviance (Naviance ->Document Library ->College Match Documents ->College Match Table)
Have you narrowed down the list of colleges you are considering to a list of schools to which you have decided to apply?
If so, add them to the colleges Im applying to on Naviance (under colleges Im thinking about, select the school and
click move to application list)?
Have you prioritized your applications and do you know your deadlines?
Early application deadlines are November 1st, November 15th; December 1st, December 15th
Seniors should complete all applications BEFORE winter break. Teachers/ counselors wont be available during break
Have you started your Common App at commonapp.org? Have you started other applications?
Do you know the essay topics for each of your applications? Have you drafted any of these essays? Have they been edited
and revised?
You can sometimes use the same essay for more than one application. However, most students write multiple
essays. Please read all questions carefully and be sure the essay clearly answers the question asked.
NEVER SUBMIT A FIRST DRAFT - Even for the short answer questions. Visit the Writing Center for help!
Have you linked your Common App to your Naviance account? (** This can only be done AFTER completing FERPA as
explained in #8) Go to Naviance ->Colleges ->Colleges Im applying to and type the email you used on Common App in the
space provided. This must be completed before any transcripts and letters of recommendation can be sent.
Have you ordered transcripts? The form to request transcripts is available on Naviance home page under Links.
Have you sent ACT/SAT scores? (www.actstudent.org OR collegeboard.org ) Test scores are not on your transcripts. You
must pay to send them directly to your colleges. There are no fee waivers to send test scores.
