Alcoholism the liver is very resilient and capable of regenerating itself.

Each time
your liver filters alcohol, some of the liver cells die. The liver can develop new cells,
but prolonged alcohol misuse (drinking too much) over many years can reduce its
ability to regenerate. This can result in serious and permanent damage to the liver.
-Drinking large amount of alcohol can lead to build up of fats in the liver.
Obesity increased risk for liver disease. Obesity often results in the accumulation
of fat cells in the liver. Acids that are secreted by these fat cells (fatty acids) can
cause a reaction in the body that destroys healthy liver cells and results in scarring
(stenosis) and liver damage.
