Todd Gloria is a Democrat who has been in government for many years prior. Kevin

Republican Party. Both live in San Diego and are running for the position to
represent the coastline of San Diego. This includes everything up from Solana
Beach down the border of Mexico.

Politics and Art Quotes

Quote number one by George Orwell is a good example of how art plays a role in
Politics. The same way art can be art to anyone who see it that way, art can also be
political if one wishes it to seem as that way. It can be it's own political view by
itself. The second quote by Ai Weiwei shows that art and politics run together. The
same as before, art can be anything if the viewer says it is and so can politics, as
long as the viewer has the belief that it is true.

California State Assembly (District 78)

The California State Assembly branches from the California State Legislator and has
about 80 members in the assembly. Members are elected by the people for two-year
terms. Because each member represents about 475,000 people in a region or district,
citizens ultimately choose a person whom they feel will best represent them in the state
of California. Although they represent different parts of California, each member of the
State Assembly convenes at the California State Capitol in Sacramento. When they hold
hearings, assembly members look over and debate more than 5,000 bills that may or may
not become laws in the state, as well as the committees theyre a part of. These
committees focus on items like state budgets, education, insurance, or housing. District
78 takes over the southern coastal part of San Diego, including the San Diego Bay, some
beachfront properties, military bases and universities. This district runs through several
different communities like Solana Beach and Del Mar, all the way to the U.S-Mexico
border.

Turning and turning in the widening gyre

The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

The Second Coming by

William Butler Yeats

Surely some revelation is at hand;

Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born

Analysis of The Second Coming

The Second Coming, by William Butler Yeats, is a call to England to wake them
up or worse is to come. For instance when he says, Things fall apart; the centre
cannot hold. Through this he talks about how after the war, society is crumbling
because of all the damage and losses it took. Another example of this is, The best
lack all conviction, while the worst are full of passionate intensity. With this, Yeats
shows that those who are good can not stand up for what is right, while those who
are bad are ready to make the changes they want. The final piece of evidence is
the last line in the poem, Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born? Bethlehem is
the birthplace of christ and in the poem this evil creature, the antichrist perhaps, is
about to be born bringing death and destruction to the world on an unimaginable
scale. Through Yeats poem, it is obvious that destruction can only be followed by
more destruction until society is finally woken up to take care of and clean up the
mess they made.
