Election Activity (Republicans)

1. During the Rebublic National Convention, Donald Trump discussed a plethora of topics
with the ongoing, applauding crowd. In the small segment I watched, Trump began to
bash on the Republican partys mistakes as well as the many faults in both Barack
Obama as well has the Democrat nominee, Hillary Clinton. Describing the many
different middle-eastern dilemas they have failed to solve in their time in ofLice, Trump
carries on to illustrate the corrupt political system that has allowed our once great
nation to crumble. At the end of the 15 minute segment, he begins to rant about
Hillarys crime involving the email scandal as well as how the legal system is so
negligent, she was capable of getting away with it. Towards the end of the 15 minutes,
you can notice that the crowd has begun to calm down, as well as they seem to have
begun to lose interest in what Trump is talking about.
2. As Trump rants on about the failed Republican system, you can easily hear the
aggression in Trumps voice. He tries to appear more macho and brash, unlike other
politicians who try to appear calm and collected in front of their audiences.

5. The intended audience for the RNC speech was primarily to reach other ethnicities and
peoples. Already securing many of the whites votes, he now needs to establish a more
secure connection with the diverse populus.
6. Factors like location time and audience may have affected Trumps points of emphasis,
main ideas, and tone. This is because he may have a limited time to speak as well as he
may be attempting to reach different audiences using different topics and concepts to
seem more appealing to them rather than the people he secured the votes for.
7. Argumentation: Trump uses argumentation in an interesting way. He takes Hillarys
past crimes and uses it as and argument against her campaign and the Democratic
party in general.
Contexualization: Trump connects Obamas and Hillarys lack of initiative to the falling
out of many things in the Middle East. He used this same topic as one of his arguments.
