Abstract

In our project we make GSM planning and optimization for Y company in

Sana'a city. We performed the coverage planning, the capacity planning,
the frequency planning, and some program in each previous planning to
provide the planning process and solve the problems which occurred after
.operating the cellular system, this case called optimization
In the coverage planning we began by calculating the radius of the area
which required to be coveraged by cellular system, the power received
.from mobile station, path loss for determine antenna gain and link budget
In the capacity planning we calculated the number of users which are
estimated in the planning area from that we calculated the number of
cells and the number of TRX in each cell and determine the blocking in
.each cell, to minimize the call drop for subscribers at the heavy traffic
In the frequency planning we distributed the band of frequencies by
frequency allocation method in each cell and test the strength of carrier
.signal by signal to interference ratio
