Detective with the Duchesne County Sheriff's Office. Charged with the enforcement and investigation of criminal activity within the state of Utah, 2. That on October 28, 2016 we began an investigation of homicide and kidnapping. The homicide occurred at the address of 27049 west Highway 40, Duchesne County, Utah, 3. That on October 28, 2016 at approximately 12:00 hours. Duchesne County Deputy Bridger was dispatched to the James Main Sr. residence located at 27049 west highway 40, on a disorderly conduct and theft of a firearm, James Main Sr. indicated that his son James Main Jr. was acting crazy and sprayed him with a fire extinguisher and then threatened to stab his truck tire, James Sr. then stated his,Stoger 357 revolver had been stolen by James Jr. who isa restricted person. James Jr. and his girlfriend Marci Johnson ran off into the mountains around the residence. Deputy Bridger searched the area around the residence and was unable to make contact. Deputy Bridger found the serial number to the Stoger 357 from Jiffy Pawn shop in Roosevelt after learning it had been pawned at one time. Deputy Bridger listed the Stoger 357 NCIC as stolen. 4, On September 26, 2016 week Roosevelt City Police Department did a traffic stop on James Main Sr. and James Main Jr. in the vehicle there was a Stoger 357 revolver. Officer Cornaby took the revolver for safe keeping until Jamies Main Sr. came to the Police Department to pickit up. The serial number 1142444 matched the serial number that was reported by Deputy Bridger. James Sr. came to the police department to retrieve the revolver. 5. On October 29, 2016 Roosevelt City Police Department and Deputy Joshua Nichols responded to a shots fired call at 325 N Bonnie Drive, Roosevelt, Duchesne County, Utah, The residence belongs to the SEMEN. Up 00 further investigation it was discovered that James Main.r. had token 2nd SE at gun point from their residence located at 1450 Page Bench Road, told both SERS (0 1 Into the car ond NMMBIrove the car to the Sather residence at 325 N Bonnie Drive. ‘The car was seized and taken to Roosevelt City building to be processed for evidence inside the vehicle on the back seat was 1 spent casing and 2 live rounds of 357 were seen by Sheriff Boren, The back passenger door window appeared to have been shot out. 6. That SNE were able to get away from James Jr. after a physical altercation, James Jr. fred one shot at them as they drove away in the C2’. SND came out of the residence and wrestled the 357 revolver from James Jr. hand. The Stoger 357 revolver would later be turned over to Roosevelt City Police Chief Rick Harrison and booked into an evidence locker there. Chief Harrison confirmed that the revolver was the same gun that Officer Cornaby had taken for safe keep several weeks prior to the incident. 7. That SINE stated James had been bragging to him that he had just shot his father. Deputy Nichols was also told by'Slthat James. Jr. stated he had just shot his father. Sgt. Mathews went to do a welfare check on James Main Sr. at his residence and found him deceased by gunshot wounds. Two 357 spent shells were located inside the cabin. 8.
