BOILER 12, PLANT 30-1 Ri iSP-254, SUPERINTENDENT Refinery Plant Utilities Division Ras Tanura Box 7030, RT Attached please find the ROED/Inspection Post T&l report for High Pressure Boiler #12. The boiler was taken out of service on September 1%, 2003 for its scheduled EIS T&I and returned to service on September 20", 2003. The report includes the Inspection filed findings and completed repairs along with Post T&d recommendations. The internal visual inspection was performed and revealed that the boiler’s tubes, drums, headers and the associated equipment were cleaned and in good condition with no sign of pitting or corrosion on the tube ends. The corrosion rate as evaluated on the basis of the Corrosion coupons was determined to be negligible, (Max 0.16 mils in steam drum and 0.41 mils in water drum). If additional information is required, please call M.H. The corrosion rate wwas determined to be 0.16 mils per year, which is considered negligible. The same corrosion coupon Was reinstalled for another 2-year service run, All the removed steam drum internals 2 rey isually inspected after Condensate wash cleaning i and found in very good condition. The internal components were re-installed with new bolts and inspected for tightness and all were found secured and in position, and the internal surfaces ag well i ind in good condition, The Superheater tubes external surfaces as well as the inlet and outlet headers we, re visually Inspected and found the tubes external surfaces Tene, Completely covered with ted Oxide deposits (combustion Product). Only the accessible tubes were hand tool eaned. The inlet and outlet superheater headers were found clean and In good concition. Urr 2auging of the headers revealed no meta) loss, Tk : 1. The Four (4) 12” feeg water check valves were Spened for inspection. The valve bodies and their Flappers were 'nspected and found in good condition, EXTERNALINSPECTION: The annual mechanical external inspection of the boiler including all the associated piping was performed and no major items were found. RI A 7 1. Anticipate refractory repairs around the burners and at the knuckle area using A.P green cast 94. 2. Cut-out two (2) sample tube sections, one from the screen tubes and one (1) from the water wall tubes for scale density and corrosion evaluation as will be marked by Inspection. 3, Plan to wash out the seal welding from the existing hand hole plugs for inspection as per the CSD to inspect the internal surfaces of the headers. 4, Remove the safety valves to the relief Valve Shop for servicing and testing and performs a hot pop test after start-up. 5. Plan to have a procedure from ROED/Utilities for cleaning the superheater tube external surfaces.
