Topic outline:
English: In this topic we will be reading ‘A Sick Day for
‘Amos McGee’. We will study fiction texts and beginning
to explore some non fiction texts as we research our
topic. We will also be writing our own information text
about healthy living
Maths: We will be learning about multiplication,
focussing on 2, 3, 5 and 10 times tables. Then we will
move onto looking at division and data handling
Topic: In Science we will be finding out about germs,
cour teeth, the effects of exercise and healthy foods. We
wil also be visting the Science Lab at Usher Street to
do some investigation work.
Suggested visits
Why not go to the shops and buy some healthy fruits and
vegetables to eat with your family
Get some exercise, visit the swimming baths or play in the
park.

Please can you make sure your child has a PE kit in
school for their PE lessons on Fridays. They need a white T-
shirt, black shorts/leggings and indoor pumps
Homewerk and spellings will be given out each week and due
in the following week
Reading:
Every child has an individual reading book. When reading with
your child, you may want to ask them questions similar to the
following
Fiction: What has happened in the story so far? What do you
predict will happen? Which characteris your favourite and
why? How do you think this character feels and why?
Nonfiction: What have you learned from reading this? Who
right read this book? When have you read a book like this
before?
