IMPORTANT NOTE TO STUDENTS WITH GPA /CGPA

LESS THAN 3.00 IN A SEMESTER

DEANS WARNING AND FACULTY ADVISORY


Dear Student,
I refer to the above matter.
We are deeply concerned with your current situation and would thus like to remind you that your
Grade Point Average (GPA) or Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) is below 3.00 in the
current semester.
As required by regulations concerning academic performance, you are hereby placed under
Academic Probation with Warning.
During the Academic Probation period, you are advised to put extra effort into your studies to
improve on your GPA or CGPA to 3.00 or higher in the subsequent semester.
To help improve on your GPA/CGPA, I recommend that you:

Register and resit the examination(s) for the course(s) with grade(s) below grade C in
the following semester subject to regulations on re-sitting examinations; and/or
Re-register and repeat the course(s) in the following semester if the grade(s) is/are still
below grade C after re-sitting the examination(s); and/or
Register for less than the maximum number of courses allowed in the following semester
to reduce your study load; and/or
Maximise use of the Digital Library at OUM and public libraries for your reading and
reference to excel in your assignments and examinations; and/or
Participate in group studies; and/or
Seek academic and study-related counselling as follows:

Contact the Faculty administration through E-CRM at myVLE who will be able to
refer you to the Dean or other members of the Faculty academic staff.

With this advice and some extra effort, I am confident that you will be able to improve on your
GPA/CGPA scores and your academic performance.
Please be mindful that a student whose GPA and/or CGPA is consistently below 2.00 in every
semester may be terminated from his/her study programme.
At the same time, if the CGPA in the final semester is below 2.00, he/she would not be eligible
to graduate from his/her study programme.

could be obtained from the Student Handbook.
