Recoverable reserves of crude oil in Pakistan till 31 December 2013, were estimated at 362
million barrels. The average oil production during July 2012-2013 was 76,277 barrels per day
(bpd). Recently there have been new oil discoveries and the daily production of crude oil reaches
100,000 barrels per day (bpd) in May 2014. Demand for petroleum stands at approximately
450,000 barrels per day (bpd). The oil and gas development company limited (OGDCL) is the
largest producer of crude oil in Pakistan
