River Day Reflection

like the photography station because i saw things I would not

usually see by my house and it was cool to take pictures of
them. One of the pictures I took is of monarch caterpillar. I
chose this picture because they only hang out around
milkweed plants which are not as common by my house so i
usually dont see them in the wild. If I had more time i would
have gone out farther to the pond and took more pictures of
the plants and animals there.
My favorite part was the seed picking because I got
to find different types of seed to pick seed to pick while also
finding plants and insects that i had never seen. In the prairie
you get assigned a group and a type of seed and you try to
find as much of that seed as you can. Something cool in the
prairie was the amount of milkweed there was. Something I
learned about the prairie is that it has a whole bunch of types
of plants and insects and its not just a bunch of tall grass. By
collecting the seed I was making a difference because by
picking the seed people will be able to plant it and restore so
much more of the prairie they lost.
The overall day was really fun if you are an outside
person but if youre not you will probably still enjoy it. If you
are a 6th grader reading this i would suggest to you that you

listen to Mr. Jeffrey/ Mrs. Boisner when they tell you to wear
pants because if you dont you will have some pretty
scratched up legs. Something to improve the river day trip
would to just keep improving the stations and keep making
them more interesting.
