Host Intro:
Kean University bites into new campus eateries this semester. Kean adds options for students
with the additions of Auntie Annes Pretzels and Smash Burger. The two additions are located in
the University Center and are open various times throughout the day. Auntie Annes is open
Monday through Thursday eleven-to-seven and Friday they close at three. Meanwhile the closing
times change each day for Smash Burger, closing early on Fridays. Both new eateries are closed
on weekends leaving the on-campus students only one on-campus eatery to choose from.
Emily Traub, Senior at Kean University isnt a fan of the new eateries hours.
Emily Traub In-Cue:
I just feel like there arent a lot of different options
Emily Traub Out-Cue:
.instead of staying open the same amount of time.
Host Transition:
Most students at Kean were excited about the new eateries coming to campus, however the
limited hours disappointments the student body. Ryan Askinasi, Junior at Kean University finds
the hours ridiculous.
Ryan Askinasi In-Cue:
I think it is ridiculous
Ryan Askinasi Out-Cue:
the students really need them on the weekends.

Host Close:
While the Kean student population thought the additions of the new eateries were going to be
great, they didnt realize it would come with the downsides of them being closed on weekends
and the change of hours of the old eateries. With Kean students feeling this way, it doesnt stop
them from visiting the new places.
For WKNJ-FM, 90.3, Union, New Jersey the NEW sound of Kean University, Im Jordan
Colna.
Sound Bites:
Emily Traub:
I just feel like there arent a lot of different options, and even with the different eateries, like I
live on campus, and so theyre not open on the weekends so it doesnt really add anything for me
to do then and even during the week it seems that newer options have the older options closer
eelier instead of staying open the same amount of time.
Ryan Askinasi:
I think it is ridiculous, that they offer new and improved eateries but they are closed on the
weekends. It doesnt really give students many options, when you are introducing new options
but taking them away when the students really need them on the weekends.
