sports are preferable, because learning to work together with teammates helps teenagers’
social and psychological development.
First of all, becoming involved in a team sport is a chance for teenagers to get out and socialize.
While they may not find a new best friend right away, they will soon learn how to work together
with their fellow players towards a common goal. More specifically. they will improve their
performance in order to win matches,
Besides, being part of a team teaches useful lessons to young people about hard work,
commitment, togetherness and not giving up. These lessons can then be applied to situations
they may face later on, as they are taught to think about and solve problems in various ways.
For example, learning how to handle an unexpected defeat in an important match will help
teenagers deal with potential difficulties that will arise in their lives. Similarly, critical thinking

Of course, it is true that individual sports, as their name implies, allow participants to compete.
