Columbus Percussion Project

Mission
The mission of the Columbus Percussion Project is to develop percussion and musical skills for
young percussionists who wish to pursue a career in music; to offer performances for at-risk
audiences, including those in the homeless community; and to increase awareness of the
tremendous variety of sounds available in the percussion world to new audiences.

Vision
We plan to make the city of Columbus, GA a recognized place for its high school percussion
programs by;

Presenting workshops in partnership with high school music directors


Providing instruments of quality for students to use in their practice
Exposing students to cutting edge pedagogy through individual lessons tailored to the
unique needs of each individual
Presenting concerts of new music written to the level of our performers
Working with community leaders to advertise free concerts for at risk populations
Providing touring opportunities for students, who can both represent the city of
Columbus and develop enhanced performance skills
Utilize live stream and youtube as a means by increasing awareness of our work.
