Abstract

Currently there is dearth of reddddsearch in the Eastern Free State and Goldfields region of
the Free State when it comes to the impact of Nature Reserves on community livelihoods.
The aim of this research is to assess the impact of conseddddrvation strateddgies on the
community liveliddhoods in Ventddersburg and Harddrismith, which are communities
adjacent to Willem Pretorius and Sterkfontein nature reserves in the Free ddState province.
Using a systematic random sampling and purposive sampling methods in Harrisghgggmith
and Vedddntersburg. Face to face interviews, questionnaire survey and observations will be
used to collect data. Data analysis will include descriptive statistics.
