The Kite Runner is the first novel by Afghan American author by Khaled Hosseini.

Published in
2003 by Riverhead Books. By the end of 2005, it was a bestseller in the United States. It seemed
readers could not get enough Hosseini's story about the troubled friendship between two Afghan
boys. In 2007, Marc Forster directed a film adaptation of the novel. His adaptation was
nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Foreign Language Film. The actors are, Amir is
the protagonist and narrator of the novel, Hassan is Amir's closest childhood friend, Assef is the
main antagonist of the novel, Baba is Amir's father and a wealthy businessman, Ali, Rahim
Khan, Sohrab and more.
