TO CREATE A GABLE ROOF

Draw your building normal

Lets assume I want only the porch to carry the gable then I will use the break
wall tool to break the long exterior wall at the joint of the room and porch and
the porch and bath

Break this two points so that the porch wall

will be alone in order for the gable not to
affect the whole exterior wall

To break the points, simply select BUILD, WALL, BREAK WALL as shown
below and click the two points
After selecting the two points, you
should have a single wall now.

Now double click on that single

middle wall (porch wall) or click
on it, right click with your
mouse then select open
object
The wall specification dialog
box will appear.
Select Roof and select Full
gable wall

Now you can go and build your roof fromm

build menu, Build Roof. Select Auto Rebuild
roof and click ok. Use 3D to view it

NOTE: The Gable roof process above is if you want only a portion of the exterior wall
to carry the gable (just the porch as in the case above). If you want the whole front
to carry the gable just double click on it then select full gable.
