Health and safety risk

assessment

Tide times whilst filming we would have to be conscious of when the tide is
predicted to rise again. According to the approximations from the nearest
harbour, it will be at its lowest around 3:13pm and will be again at its highest
at 9:13pm. I have planned travel and filming around this and set an itinerary

for the day that we shall stick as closely to as possible to ensure that there is
time to shoot and pack up again safely
The Seven Sisters Cliff is made of chalk; it is constantly being eroded which
makes it unstable and causes parts to break away and fall off periodically.
This has the potential to cause injury therefore filming shall take place away
from the cliff base and closer towards the shore.
The cliff is very steep and is a falling hazard so we shall be especially careful
when filming near the edge to be aware of the cliff edge warning signs
The predicted forecast is cloudy with a temperature being around 8C. With
the wind coming in from the sea and the winter weather, it will be especially
cold filming at this location so I will ensure that myself and the cast are
wearing suitably warm clothing, have hot drinks on hand, and have
occasional breaks to go indoors (probably to the nearby tea room) and warm
up.
Daylight, however cloudy according to the weather forecast. This will
influence my DSLR settings as I need to increase the light sensitivity of my
camera to increase brightness of the image. Therefore I will set my DSLR ISO
to approximately 400. I want to avoid graininess or noise but if the shots
are too dark they will be unusable
The constant background noise of the wind/waves would be a problem
recording the sound and image together; however using lavalier
microphones should hopefully reduce pickup of this. This will require me to
synch the audio and image in editing.

N.B The area will likely not be very busy due to the weather and time of year,
however there is a chance members of the public could obstruct shots. We will try to
avoid them but in the case that we cannot move, I will communicate what we are
doing and try to negotiate.
