Just a few notes to keep you updated on| | |progress © is making good progress in English, but is still working a bit below year 5 standard. It’s has been ‘awesome to see (Treading at home and this has definitely helped her develop fluency when reading.{™ is still developing her understanding of implied and literal meaning in texts so when she is reading at home | encourage her to have discussions about what she has read and what the author is implying. This has been our focus in guided reading sessions and hopefully this reinforcement at home will help. in writing lludhas been producing texts with good structure which is great. Our next goal is to work ‘on applying the spelling and grammar rules we learn in specific grammar lessons to her writing and also remember to edit her work. A lot of the time | think she doesn’t take the time to read her work to correct any errors. | am also happy to supply her with a bit of extra grammar work to take home. Finally) really needs to apply herself to our English lessons. | think because{jji] isn’t overly confident in her English skills she struggles to stay on task or complete activities in a timely manner which | can understand. At the moment I'm focusing on giving her lots of encouragement to try and develop that confidence. [Ui}is working really well in Maths, Science and all other lessons we have together. She asks ‘questions and is always involved in group discussions which is really great to see. One thing | will ‘mention is that | am getting told that when she has other teachers for Music, History or a relief teacher she can get a bit silly and disruptive. | haven’t had any issues with this but | think the change in routine is a bit unsettling for her. overalllisa pleasure to teach and if you have any questions or concerns please let me know. | am happy to supply extra work or sit and meet at any time.
