The purpose of my job is to provide professional nursing care to patients through

assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of patient care to improve


health outcomes as well as contribute to the efficient management of my ward.
My top task include monitoring patients vital signs (e.g. Temperature), bathing
the patient, making their bed, feeding them, obtaining their samples for
laboratory investigation and dressing their wounds. I provide my patients rest
and comfort, give them prescribed medication and report on their response,
educating them and their relatives, providing the needed psychological support
and helping them adapt to the hospital environment.
Also I had to educate myself via school, workshops and conferences, social
media groups, blogs and online magazines to maintain continuing personal and
professional development as required to meet changing demands in care.
I adhere to the health and safety policies, protocols, take care of my own safety
and that the patient, relatives and staff - reporting all accidents, risk
assessments and incidents, completing relevant documentation and undertaking
further investigation as directed, ensuring that there is a safe, clean, pleasant
and therapeutic environment for care.
