HEALTH
My current event is about how a baby was born twice because of a tumor that
affects children before they are born. The tumor is called a Sacroccygeal Teratoma
(which is a tumor that grows at the tailbone and is more often found in girls then
guys and occurs in 1 in 35,000 births). At 23 weeks pregnant they decided to
perform surgery and the tumor was nearly as big as the baby. They had to cut open
the uterus and pull the baby out to surgically remove the fetus. When the
successfully took off the tumor they put the baby back in the uterus and stitched it
up. Then 12 weeks later she was born again by a c section.
