2. Types of relative clauses
Defining relative clauses dont add extra information and commas arent needed. We can use that.
I have got some cousins in America who I often visit.
Non defining relative clauses add extra information and commas are needed. We cannot use that
Richard Bradshaw, who is a 22-year-old computer programmer from Manchester, lives on his own.
3. Be careful with prepositions
The house which he lives in is very small The house in which he lives is very small
Mr Smith is the person whom you have to address to Mr Smith is the person to whom you have to
address
