ELFIT 2016
ELFIT, the first & biggest fitness competition in Egypt & among the leading fitness events in the Middle East, started in Egypt
back in February 2013, heightening the awareness about fitness & encouraging healthier lifestyle across the country. It is
created and managed by In The Zone Sports, the leading sports events & sports management company based in Egypt.

ELFIT 2016 Finals will take place in Giza, Egypt at Palm Hills Club, from the 20 to the 22 of October 2016.

1. 2016 Competition Divisions & Categories:

Masters Males 35+ (Born in 1980 or before)
Mixed Teams 16+ (2 males / 1 female)
Scaled Categories: No Qualifications Required
Masters Females 35+ (Born in 1981 or before)

Teenage boys/girls 14-16 (Born between 20 Oct. 2000 and 22 Oct. 2003)

2. Scaled Division Format:

All scaled division categories qualifications will be on Friday the 21 of October in Cairo, Egypt.
The top athletes/teams from each category on the leaderboard will qualify to the final workout/s on Saturday, October

Day 1 workouts will be released on 20 September 2016
Registration will be first come first serve.
Registration will open in 1 August 2016 and will close 10 October 2016 or until each category capacity is reached.
ELFIT solely has the right to close the registration for one or more of the categories before the announced deadline
without further notice.

3. Elite Individuals Qualifiers Format:

All Elite division individual athletes will have to go through 4 qualifier workouts to reach the finals.

The 4 qualifier workouts will be released in September from the 1 till 8 , 2016.
This year the qualifiers will be held in Egypt, UAE, Jordan, Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar & Lebanon where our partner facilities
in each country will be hosting the Elite Individual Qualifiers.
In each of the seven countries, our partner facilities will be hosting the Elite Individuals Qualifiers, the qualifiers will be
held on different weekends from September 9th until October 2nd, 2016. Refer to http://www.elfiteg.com/

4. Elite Teams: (Online Qualifiers):

All Elite Teams will have to go through 3 online qualifier workouts to reach the finals.
Teams will consist of two (2) males and one (1) female.

Every member must sign up and should have an account on www.elfiteg.com but does not have to register.
Only the Team Leader registers and enters the information of the other team members.
The team must perform each workout together at the same time and place.
During the qualifications workouts, teams will NOT be allowed alternates. There will be only three (3) members on a
team.
At the finals, teams will be allowed to have 2 substitutes whether females or males.
Teams who are submitting online must have their score validated by performing all workouts under the observation of a
CrossFit Level 1 trainer and by submitting a valid video with their score submission before the announced deadline. Refer
to Online Submission Guidelines.

passed athletes/teams will not be able to adjust or re-submit any score for that competition.

6. Elite Leaderboard Individuals & Teams:

Athletes/Teams will be ranked based on their performance against other athletes/Teams scores in each workout.
Points will be awarded based on placement in a workout1 point for first place, 2 points for second place, and so on.
The total points will be ranked in the overall ranking list and the winner will be the athlete/team that has accumulated
the fewest points after all workouts have been completed.

Individuals Qualifications Leaderboard will be officially announced on October the 3 , 2016 after validating all scores.

Teams Qualifications Leaderboard will be officially announced on September the 17 , 2016 after validating all scores.
All athletes/teams qualified to the finals will be required to submit a complete video for all the qualifier workouts. These
workouts will be viewed by ELFIT team and must be approved by ELFIT team prior to sending out the finals invitations to
the individual athletes and teams.

7. Qualifying to the finals Elite Individuals & Teams:

48 Males, 42 Females, 24 Males 35+ and 12 teams will be competing in ELFIT Elite Finals held in Cairo, Egypt 20-22
October 2016.
The top 26 males 24 females 10 35+ Males 8 Teams from the overall leaderboard will qualify to ELFIT Finals

The top athlete from each country will get a wild card to the finals
The top 12 males - 8 females 6 Males 35+ from Egypt will get a wild card to the finals
4 Teams from across the region will receive a wild card to the finals
ELFIT management team solely has the right to give one or more athlete a wild card to qualify directly.

8. Elite Finals Invites:

Qualified athletes/Teams will receive an official invitation to the final event via email.
All qualified athletes will be required to submit a complete video of one of the 4 qualifiers Workouts.
This workout will be selected by ELFIT team after and must be approved by ELFIT team prior to sending out the finals
invitations for individual athletes and teams.
Athletes/Teams will have 48 hours to accept their invitation and re-register for the final event, if the receipt didnt
confirm by registering for the finals within 48 hours from receiving the finals invitation; their spot will be given to the
next athlete/team in the ranking list. They will also have 48 hours to accept and register before contacting the next
athlete. This process will continue until each category capacity is reached.

Registration General Information:


Each athlete must have an account at ELFIT official website in order to compete in any of the competition categories.
Creating an ELFIT account will only be done once in a lifetime. Athletes will use the same account each year.
Athletes will use their account in different ways including and not limited to registration and joining a team.
It is the athletes sole responsibility to provide valid, up-to-date and truthful information in creating their account,
including and not limited to their date of birth, email address, mobile no. & nationality.
Athletes under 14 will not be able to create an account at ELFIT website, any athlete under the age of 16 years old will
have to provide additional parent information to complete their registration.
Each member of the team must create an account register online first to be eligible to form a team and compete
All team members must be listed and registered on a teams roster before the score submission deadline in order for the
team to be listed on qualifications Leaderboard.
How To Register:
Individuals: to be able to compete, Athlete must do the following:

12. Teams Online Video Submission Guidelines:

All Teams will have to complete the workouts submit their scores online and upload a video for each workout before the
announced deadline to have their results validated by ELFIT team in order to be ranked on the Elite Teams qualifiers
Leaderboard.
The teams 3 qualifier workouts will be released on the 23rd of August 2016.
Deadline to submit the 3 workouts score online on the 6th of September 2016 at 23:59 GMT, once the deadline has
passed athletes/teams will not be able to adjust or re-submit any score for that competition.

General Guidelines:

Teams must have their score validated by performing all workouts under the observation of a CrossFit Level 1 trainer
AND by submitting a valid video with their score submission.
All submission videos must clearly show the teams Judge throughout the workout. Videos submitted without a Judge
will be invalid.
Videos must be uploaded on a public platform (i.e. Youtube), Teams will be asked to provide the link to the video when
needed.
It is the sole responsibility of the Team to ensure the timely and successful submission of videos for each workout.
Submissions that are incomplete will not be accepted.
Any team that feels that their video submission may be delayed due to issues with uploading videos should send an
email to support@elfit-eg.com notifying ELFIT team of these difficulties. ELFIT team must receive this email notification
PRIOR to the category submission deadline announced. Once deadline closes teams will not be able to adjust or resubmit
any score for that competition.
Score validation for any online video submission is the sole right of ELFIT Judging team the video will be reviewed and
scored by ELFIT judging staff. As part of this video review process, the teams posted score may be accepted, modified or
invalidated without warning and after the close of the competition.
Before starting each workout, the team must do the following:
State the team members names and judge name
All equipment used must be clearly displayed and measured (Weights, Box, Wall-Ball Height, ETC.)
During each Workout, make sure that:

Athletes & Judge are ALWAYS in frame.


The timer must be in clear sight at all times throughout the video. (a tablet can be used)
Video must be taken from an angle that shows full profile of athlete to ensure that full motion standards are met.
Videos CANT BE EDITED in any way.

SOCRING PENALTIES

Prior to submitting a video, athletes should review the video to ensure their reps meet the required standards, the
camera angle permits the judge to determine if the movement standards are being met or not and determine if there
are any technical problems with the video itself.
Videos that show a discrepancy between the score submitted and the score displayed in the video will undergo the
following penalties:
If its a For Time Workout: Every no rep that is counted will add five seconds to the score.
If its an AMRAP Workout: Every no rep that is counted will be deducted from the score.
If more than five no reps are counted within a workout, the score will be invalid and score zero.

fees.

Elite Division Qualified athletes/Teams will receive an official invitation to the finals via email. Athletes/Teams will have
48 hours to accept their invitation and re-register for the final event, if the athlete or team didnt confirm by registering
for the finals within 48 hours from receiving the finals invitation; their spot will be given to the next athlete/team in the
ranking list. They will also have 48 hours to accept and register before contacting the next athlete. This process will

14. Finals On-Site Check In:

Elite Athletes will complete an on-site check-in process on the Wednesday the 18 of October 2016. Athletes will need to bring a
print out of their confirmation e-mail as well as their passport or National Egyptian ID for Egyptians.

15. Finals Logistics Rules:

One Coach per athlete will be allowed in the warm up & the athletes areas if there are any. The Coach must present the
required Event Pass and credentials to enter this area. Coaches are not allowed to enter the competition area at any
time
All athletes must be wearing the ELFIT T-shirt while competing
Athletes are handed identification cards that should be kept with them at all times, and should be shown upon request,
if at any time the athlete didnt show the identification card or has lost it, they will be subjected to the risk of
disqualification
No attire shall interfere with Event Judging and the ability to see the event movement Standard or Range of Motion.
Photography and Footage. Non-professional, non-flash photography and video cameras are permitted at any of ELFIT
Reebok events for personal use only. All cameras (video and still) must be hand held with i telephoto lens no longer than
5 inches in length. Monopods, tripods, and cameras with telephoto or interchangeable lenses greater than 5 inches in
length (professional photography equipment) are not permitted.

16. Athletes Briefing:

Delivery of the Event Movement Standard and required Range of Motion to all participating Athletes will occur during an
Athlete briefing just prior the event. This briefing will typically be delivered by the technical director or any of the head
judges, with or without visual demonstration.
The briefing can be on the same day of the event at the event location or can be in a different location/day.
There will be an opportunity for Athletes to have questions answered at the briefing. Athlete attendance is mandatory
for the daily briefing. The time and location of such briefings will be communicated to Athletes. Athletes who are absent
from these briefings may be subject to the loss of protest rights during the competition.

17. Finals Scoring System & General Rules:


Finals detailed scoring system for the all categories will be announced before the event during the briefing

On-site Judges will validate scores for each workout an Athlete performs.
At each round Athletes/teams will be ranked on their performance in each workout. Based on their relative rank, they
will be assigned points. Their total points will be ranked on the Overall ranking list. The top Athletes/teams on the Overall
ranking list will advance, or win the competition.
The scoring system as well as the tie breaker rule in case of any score ties will be announced in the briefing day
ELFIT has the right to give one or more athlete a wild card to qualify directly to any of the event rounds

18. Judging & Complains:

Judges are instructed not to touch competition equipment or move equipment during a workout unless the equipment
will interfere with another Athletes performance or if there is a legitimate safety concern.
Event Judges, Head Judge & the Event Director have the authority to stop or suspend an Athlete at any point in
competition if he or she feels that Athlete is at risk of serious injury to himself/herself or others
For all Athlete Event Protests, Appeals, Scoring Discrepancies or Ruling questions the following process will be used.
The competing Athlete only (no Coaches or other athletes allowed, one person to file the Protest) files the protest by
notifying one of the Judges Team Leaders of the competition event in question by relating their name, athlete number
and reason of protest.
The Judge Team Leader, Athlete and that Athletes Event Judge/judges during the workout in question will all
communicate to fact find and define the issue in protest.
All information will then be presented to the competition Head Judge and/or Event Director or their designee for a final
ruling.
The Event Director has final authority on all Athlete Event Protest rulings, and may designate this authority to the head
judge in most cases.
Judgment calls made during the competition are final and are not negotiable or subject to change or modification.
Video, photos, cell phone media or any other media will not constitute grounds for changing or modifying a decision,
score or entry made by an Event Judge. The Head Judge, the event director, or their designee may ask for any related
media, but its availability may or may not guarantee use or admissibility in the overall decision process.
Athletes may not protest discrepancies related to the judging, scoring or performance of another Athlete
Nothing in these rules including Event Protests, Scoring Discrepancies and Event Movement Standards, Range of Motion
Judging applications should be read as a limitation on ELFITs right to run or operate any ELFITs. Supported, sanctioned
or sponsored Event as it sees fit in its sole and absolute discretion and the Event Director and ELFIT say is final. This
includes the right to remove or disqualify any Athlete at The ELFITs sole and absolute discretion.

19. Sportsmanlike:

Sportsmanlike manner should be followed by all athletes and their supervisors


Athletes arent allowed to assault the judges or organizers verbally or physically at any time and if any athlete is facing
any problem should report to the head of judges and wait for his/her decision and in case the athlete didnt follow the
procedures, this will result in disqualification.
Athletes arent allowed to interfere or harass other participants during their workouts, and in case any athlete was
involved in deliberately harming other participants, will be considered disqualified from the competition.
In case the athletes coach or friend interfered or harassed other participants or assaulted any of the judges or
organizers verbally or physically at any time, this athlete will be disqualified immediately.
In case any huge issue occurred with any of the athletes; individuals or teams that the head of judges cant take the best
decision, the ELFIT director is allowed to interfere and has absolute authority to take the decision that best suits the
situation.

20. Marketing & Promotional Rights:

ELFIT & In The Zone Sports has the right to use any photo/video taken from the event without any restrictions and all
athletes compliance with and agree to that.
ELFIT has the right include any of participated athletes in any marketing campaign.

21. Prizes:

Elite winners will receive a check with the prize amount after the event
Checks will be due after 6-8 weeks of the event

All prizes are subject to applicable taxes and withholding, all prizes are compliance with and agree to ELFIT 2016 prizes Rules.
All monetary prizes will be awarded in the form of a check. Alternative payment methods may be organized for international
athletes, however athletes may be subject to bank charges where applicable.
Additional prizes may be presented by partners or sponsors.
All physical prizes must be collected by the winning athlete at the event. It is the responsibility of the winning athlete to
organize to take the prizes home. If prizes need to be shipped to the athletes after the event the athlete may be subject to
charges for shipping.
Egyptian Winning Athletes will receive the money prize in EGP according to the finals bank rate.
