To Whom It May Concern:
It is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Collin Pihl. I have known Collin for
three years as his high school counselor. Collin has completed rigorous college preparatory coursework
including AP English and courses at Solano Community College. Collin has received High Honors
recognition every year of high school, with a 4.06 GPA. Collin also participated in the National Spanish
Exam his sophomore and junior year and received gold and bronze medals for his test scores.
Collin is actively involved in clubs on campus. He has been a member of the National Honor
Society for two years. He is the co-founder of our Film Club that has been active for three years, and
co-stage manager for Drama Club. Collin has been recognized and published for his poetry writing in
the American Library of Poetry and was inducted into the National Society of High School Scholars his
sophomore year.
In addition to his academics and clubs, Collin is involved in our local community through Boy
Scouts of America. He has completed his Eagle Project, received the World Conservation Award
through Boy Scouts, and held leadership positions. Collin also volunteers at our local public library
with homework help and assisting librarians when needed. Collin has worked with the PACE Solano
program assisting with catering, handyman, and restoration work.
Collin is an excellent student that is able to balance, academics, clubs, and a busy community
service schedule. Collin has challenged himself academically to meet the goals of attending college
after high school. Collins hard work and dedication along with a caring personality will take him far in
the future.
