Assessment Method and Question

The Managing Strategic Change course will be assessed by a single assignment of 2,500 words.
Given the recent BREXIT referendum results, identify a significant change management initiative, one
that impinges upon the strategy of the company, and critically assess the extent to which it is being or
should be managed.
Identify the rationale, objectives, planning activities, implementation strategies and evaluate them
against best practice: to what extent could the change be considered as being strategic; is there any
similar world event from which lessons can be learned?

You should adopt a report style: set the scene, detail the history, examine and critique the outcomes,
detail the lessons, and then suggest a way forward. As these companies are listed on the London
Stock Exchange, you should be able to get access to company information from the company and
LSE websites. You should also keep abreast with the latest news by reading and/or watch business
news on business sites such as Reuters and Bloomberg.
Be careful, it is your thoughts, reasoning, and recommendations that will count, not those, if you have
selected a case from a published source, of the original academic researcher and/or practitioner.
