Objectives/Outcomes:
The student will imitate sounds and recreate objects in dramatic play by
using materials in the art station.
The student will assume roles through imitation and recreation of
characters and scenarios in monster needs a costume.

Students homework is to sit down at the table with parents/guardians for dinner and
define the word imitation. The student will then tell them how their group recreated
the scenario in the story. There will be a notice for the parent/guardian to sign
confirming the assignment was completed.
Accommodations:
For ELL and students with disabilities partners will be assigned. Extended time will be permitted
when creating masks. Group work is provided for the recreation of the story and the audio book is
the focus of this assignment. Premade masks will also be available for decorating.
Assessment:
Self-checks will occur throughout the story. Self-critique will take place during making
of the lists of sounds. Masks will be assessed at the end of the day for recreation of
characters.
