S205his part the methodologies available and the methodology that is going to be used for the
lopment of the system. Overall there are three topics, they are;
thodology, development
is and the development engagement.
1. Waterfall Model: This methodology is not chosen for this project as after completing
‘one phase you cannot go back to the previous phase. (Buzzle, 2012)
2. Agile Model: This methodology is not chosen because it follows strict and restrictive
principles. (Waters, 2012)
3. Iterative Waterfall Model: This methodology is not chosen because there is a fixed
time limitation for this project. (Mar, 2005) 7
4. DSDM (Dynamic System Development Method): This methodology is not chosen
because it does not support design and documentation. (Chapin-McGill, 2012)
5, RUP (Rational Unified Process): This methodology is not chosen because
development process is rigorous to perform. (Buzzle, 2012)
6. SSADM (Structured System Analysis and Design Method): This methodology is not
chosen because it needs experienced team, (Cohen, 2012)
7. Prototyping Model: For this project Prototyping model has been chosen. The reason
why Prototyping model has been chosen is because the development of an initial
version of the prototype can be done with the requirements and the specifications that
have been collected so far. Furthermore the developed’ prototype can be modified
according to the needs of the system until the requiréments are fully satisfied. For
building the actual system the main basis is the prototype and user involvement is a
must for development in this type of methodology. (Freetutes.com, 2012)
