Mr. Sarwar Uddin Ahmed,

Economist/Business Consultant
Mr. Sarwar Uddin Ahmed is currently an Assistant Professor at School of Business, Independent
University Bangladesh. He also works as a Senior Research Fellow of Development Research Network.
Before this he worked as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of
Engineering of Nagasaki University.
Mr. Sarwar earned his Master Degree in Economics from Graduate School of Economics, Nagasaki
University, Japan in 2001, and Ph.D from Graduate School of Science and Technology, Nagasaki
University, Japan in 2004. His fields of Concentration: Project Financial Management, Cost Benefit
Analysis, and Environmental and Resource Economics. Dissertation theme: New Approaches for Costbenefit Analysis of Environmental Goods by Applying Contingent Valuation Method.
Mr. Mahmudul Bari,
Investment/Business Consultant
Mr. Mahmudul Bari served at IDLC Finance Limited, Dhaka as Asst. General Manager and Head of
Merchant Banking Operation. Before this he worked as a Senior Manager, Product Development and
Operation, in the same organization.
Prior to joining IDLC, Mr. Bari worked in LankaBangla Finance Limited as Assistant Vice President Merchant Banking Operation - and as Asst. Manager Capital Market Operation. He also worked in
Asset and Investment Management Services of Bangladesh Ltd. and Securities Consultants Limited as
Manager Fund Management Group - and Financial Analyst, respectively. He is a CFA (Chartered
Financial Analyst, part II completed) from the USA.

Mr. Mohammed Iftekharuddin,

Research Analyst/Technical Writer
Mr. Mohammed Iftekharuddin worked at Business News Section of The Independent and The
Daily Star as a sub-editor. While working in these well-known and reputed English dailies, he was
involved in editing/paraphrasing of various reports on business related issues, press releases and
notes of local and multinational companies on their activities and products; formulation of
appropriate headings and sub-headings (shoulders); photo captioning; occasional reporting;
research on various business related issues; (Business) page formatting, and news selection.
With a considerable exposure in research activities, he has a good knowledge concerning various
economic (or/and other) information processing techniques, prediction and forecasting for policy
purpose, experience in technical writings and research work, application of a general framework
of analysis for solving real world problems, experience in mathematical and statistical
analysis, ability to work with data to address specific issues, and ability to communicate
effectively in written and oral form with others. He earned his Bachelor Degree in Economics
from Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania, USA.

Mr. Md. Zakaria shahid rumi,

Business Consultant
Mr. Zakaria shahid rumi worked as a Project Finance Controller and Commercial Manager in
LM Ericsson Bangladesh Limited (former Ericsson AB) and Butterfly Telecom Limited,
respectively. While working in LM Ericsson Bangladesh Ltd, he had been involved in activities
pertaining to project- management. In Butterfly Telecom Limited his job involved credit
management and foreign trade related activities. Mr. Zakaria is a Master degree holder in
commerce.
Mr. Md. Zahoor Hossain Mahmud,
Investment/Financial Analyst
Mr. Zahoor Hossain Mahmud served as the Senior Assistant Vice President, Credit Division
(Head Office), of The City Bank Limited. Prior to joining The City Bank, Mr. Mahmud worked
in Industrial Promotion and Development Company of Bangladesh Limited (IPDC) as Head of
Internal Audit, in Industrial Development Leasing Company of Bangladesh Limited (IDLC) as
Manager, Internal Audit, and in Nestl Bangladesh Limited as Accounts Officer. He is a Master
Degree holder in commerce (Accounting).

Mr. Syed Tamjid ur Rahman,

Consultant (Marketing, Business Development, and IT)
Mr. Syed Tamjid ur Rahman is presently involved in private consultancy practices in areas of
marketing, communication, and IT. He has been doing private consultancy in these areas for
some time. He worked as a Market Analyst for East-West Seed (Bangladesh) Limited - a
Bangladeshi sister concern of a French multinational supplier and distributor of seed - and for
Azmat (Bangladesh) Limited - one of the largest textile unit in Chittagong Export Processing
Zone. He worked as an IT consultant for Monno Ceramics Limited and Phonics Poultry.
Prior to his private consultancy career, Mr. Syed worked for Abdul Monem Limited as
Consultant, Marketing and Corporate Planning; in ICI Bangladesh Manufacturers Limited as
Manager, Corporate Planning and Business Development; and in Beximco Pharmaceuticals
Limited as Assistant Manager, Marketing and Corporate Planning. Mr. Syed is the Founder
Member of the Consortium for Business Development Services (CBDS) for the promotion of
business services in association with World Bank/IFC/SEDF. He is a Master Degree holder in
Business Administration (Marketing).
Mr. A.F.M Kamrul Ahsan,
Consultant; Area of Concentration: Energy
Mr. A.F.M Kamrul Ahsan works as a (Power) Plant Coordinator of Cemex Cement (BD)
Limited. Prior to joining the cement manufacturing company, Mr. Kamrul worked in Abdul
Monem Sugar Refinery Limited (AMSRL) as Asst. Manager (Maintenance In-Charge at Factory
& Power Plant), in Abdul Monem Energy Limited as Power Plant In Charge, and, once again, in

AMSRL as Mechanical Engineer. He earned his Master Degree in Business Administration from
AIUB and B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from BUET.
Mr. Md. Omar Siddique,
Research Executive
Mr. Omar Siddique worked for United Capital Limited in Dhaka as Research Executive in the
department of Foreign Currency and Commodities. While working in United Capital, he
prepared reports for clients within a fast paced team environment, and advised clients on foreign
currencies and commodities. Mr. Siddique has a Bachelors and Masters degree in International
Relations from the University of Dhaka. He has an MS degree in international diplomacy from
Bond University, Australia.
Mr. Mahbub Hossain Sheikh,
Business Consultant
Mr. Mahbub Hossain Sheikh works in Business Development & Management Partnership as a
Managing Partner since March 1, 2008. His work at Business Development & Management
Partnership includes survey, inspection, and consultancy. The institution's office is located at
3/10, DIT Extension Road (3rd floor), Motijheel, Dhaka - 1000, Bangladesh.

Mr. Abdullah Almamun worked at the head office of the City Bank in Dhaka as an Assistant
Manager (Executive Officer) with posting at the Credit Risk Management (CRM) Division
(SME Unit). He is also involved in International Leasing Securities Limited as a Research
Analyst.
Before this, Mr. Abdullah Almamun worked in CRISL (Credit Rating Information & Services
Ltd.), one of the pioneers Credit Rating Agency in Bangladesh as Financial Analyst, in Lanka
Bangla Securities Ltd as Research Analyst. He has a Master Degree in Business Administration.
