‘THE WORLD WILL NEVER BE THE SAME BECAUSE THE BLESSED SAVIOR CAMP
Season's Greetings family and friends. Welcome to our Christmas
letter; a chance for us to share with you the highlights of 1991. (llow
fun for you!)
After enjoying our Christmas break, Mike and I headed hack to che
classroom, Mike was teuching Sth grade in Truman, I was teaching Pre-School
and Friday Kindergarten in Ne. Leke, and Bethany was teaching us how to
be parents of an eight month old, January also brought with it the
exciting news that we would be blessed with the gift of another child
but two months later our baby was given the gift of eternal life. We
praise the Lord that He's given us the chance to live with Him and our
baby someday and for now ve live here knowing our baby is truly happy in
His arms.
On April 28, we celebrated Bethany's first birthday. WOW! It has
been such a thrill to be given the chance to watch our healthy girl
Brow up.
Simmer gave us nore Lime with Bethany. Mike started back into his
summer painting. ‘Then came our yery busy and incredibly exciting July.
We celebrated our Srd anniversary on the 1st, then were off to Sonshine '91
in Willmar on the 12th and 13th. We came home to have two days to prepare
for a trip ro Washington D.C.!! Mike and I were txo advisors as our local
Youth for Christ group headed to "DC '9i, ihe Congress on Youth Evangelism”
in a charter bus. (26 hours one way on a bus is an experience in itself!)
We left on the 16th, returned on the 22nd, and in between, were challenged
to "Be the One" to share the Gospel of Jesus Chris along with the other
15,000 other teens/staff/advisors, etc, We were told ahead of time that
it would be indescribable and ve found that to be a major understatement! !
(Thanks Byron and Nike B. for doing your part!)
Immediately as we returned, I received a message to call the Elen.
School. They offered me a full-time teaching position. Whoa! What a
decision! With a lot of thinking to do, 1 headed up to New Prague to got
Bethany--E couldn't vait til the next day, After 24 hours of talking and
praying, Nike and T decided thet I would accept the position, Then, just
belore school was about to begin, we found out that we were to have another
child! What a thrill -~ we feel so privileged. Our baby is due April 18,
Just before Bethany's 2nd birthday. It's so wonderful to feel this life
move and grow. Seeing our baby on an ultrasound vas beautiful and so
emotional ve didn't know whether to laugh or cry with joy and thanksgiving.
Now that school has hegun, Mike is teaching a 5th/6th grade combinalion
class in Truman, T am teaching 1st grade in Mt. Lake, and Bothany supplies
us with the motivation. Mike ran his 3rd Twin Cities Marathon in Octoher,
reaching fie goal and personal best; 26.2 miles in 3 hours, ‘The extra push
needed fo reach this tite was Just enough to start up en old problem; an
irregular heartbeat. After little success with medication, his heart
wes electrically shocked to a regular heat. Kind of scary but aow he has
been given the OK to be a maniac runner again.
Bethany has been an absolute treasure to us! She loves her books
and babies. Listening to her new words every day amazes us and she's
actually a nice little helper...somctimes. The only thing else ve could
ask from her is for more hugs.
We wish to you many smiles and memories this Christmas season, Wo
hope that you will feel our Lord's blessings as you celebrate His birth
and throughout the coming year. Know thet you will always be loved and
