Hearty Cabbage Soup

1 head cabbage, thinly sliced


1 large onion, diced
1 lb. sausage (mild or spice)
1 T. oil
8 Cups Water
2 T. Better than Bouillon (Beef Flavor)
cup tomato catsup
Spices to taste

Brown sausage and onion in 1 T. oil. Add cabbage and stir until
cabbage softens. Mix bouillon with 1 cup of the water to dissolve
and add to the sausage/cabbage mixture. Add the rest of the
water and catsup. I usually add 1 tsp. black pepper, salt to taste
and a little onion powder. Sometimes, red pepper flakes. This is a
very hearty, and tasty soup. Serve with cornbread.
