Nutrition Month Is A Campaign Held Every July To Create Awareness On The Importance of Nutrition
importance of nutrition. This year, we celebrate this event with the theme
It
gives emphasis on the first 1000 days of a person's life beginning at the
very first day of conception until the child's second birthday.
This period is known as "the
golden window of opportunity" to maximize a child's potential for growth
and development.
panahon nga mahitabo ang growth faltering, stunted growth or pagka
bansot na pwede natong ma likayan.
The first 1000 days of life starts on the day of conception.
This lays the
foundation for the child's mental, motor and social skills.
1. Women who are underweight before and during pregnancy are at risk of
maternal deaths and likely to give birth to low birth weight infants.
maka kuha ug maba pud nga timbang pagpanganak niya. Maka apekto ni
sa saktong pag develop sa bata ug mas risgo na magka sakit later in life.
2. Iron deficiency anemia among pregnant women increases risk of death
due to excessive blood loss. Ang mga anemic na mabdos risgo na
magdugo sa iyang pagpanganak, ma apasan or ma anemic pud iyahang
bata.
3. Folate deficiency and Iodine deficiency during pregnancy can cause
stillbirth or physical deformity and mental retardation.
6 months.
1. Babies who are not exclusively breastfed do not reach their maximum
potential.
3. Ang formula-fed na infant have lower IQs.
4. Mixed feeding decreases breastmilk production.
ug physically. Let us keep in mind the importance of quality prenatal
assessment, exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months and giving
appropriate complementary feeding after six months while continuing
breastfeeding.
