He has received awards from the Consejo, Latinoamericano de Ciencias Sociales (1983) and from the Social ‘Science Research Council (1987), among others. His contributions to the history of Latin American thought include several edited volumes, such as José Ingenieras: antimperialismo y nacién (México, Siglo XI, 3979) and América Latina: positivismo y nacién (México, Ed. Katén, 1983). Oscar Terdn’s most renowned books are Discutir Maridtegui (Universidad Auténoma de Puebla, 1985), En busca de la ideologla argentina (Buenos Aires, Catilogos, 1986), and Alberdi péstumo (Buenos Aires, Puntosur, 1988).
