Teacher Interview Questions
1. What was your greatest challenge your first couple of years? The greatest challenge
for me my first year was classroom control and time management. I struggled with the
conflict of the role of teacher versus the role of friend. It was very difficult to control
the classroom when attempting to make the students like me. Additionally, time
management to complete lesson material was very difficult as a new teacher.
1. How did you build your classroom management? I built my classroom management
around the two most important rules of any classroom. First, never speak without
permission and second, never leave your seat without permission.
2. How do you handle behavioral issues on a professional level? The way I handle
behavioral issues on a professional level is to correct the student in a caring way but very
serious. My philosophy is firm but fair. Additionally, I will contact the parents and
maintain communication about the progress of the student.
3. What is your biggest joy in teaching? I find the biggest joy in teaching from the
student interaction. The interpersonal relationships that are developed during instructional
time and free time are very fulfilling.

4. How do you tweak your lesson plans to fit your students? The way I adjust my
lessons plans depends on the capacity of the students in general. I always try to challenge

the advanced and encourage the average students to perform above the status quo. If a
group of students is not grasping a concept, I will make adjustments as needed.
