Filming Day 2 & 3

Review

DAY 2

DAY 2
On day two we shot the garden scene. We were lucky enough that the sun was shining which meant that I
did not need the assistance of the LED light to create adequate lighting.
As you can see, we made a living room scene in the garden, this was quite difficult as we had to get all of
the furniture up my garden which is quite steep but I am very happy with the outcome. We filmed just after
midday which meant the sun was facing the correct way to place the sofa under a drooping tree. This
meant that the furniture could blend into the scene better (Despite being an obvious juxtaposition).
This scene was nice to film as it was set in my own garden. This meant that there was no stress to
remember to pack everything and rushing to transport myself and the equipment around. It also meant
that we could work undisturbed.
Unfortunately there was a continuity error as Unity had her iphone on the sofa which I did not notice.
However, I am confident that I will be able to avoid this by cropping etc during the editing process.

DAY 3

DAY 3
On Day three we travelled to Hardwicke to film the motorway subway scene. Due to busy schedules we
had to film this scene about two weeks after the garden scene which meant that the weather was
incredibly cold and only around 3 or 4 degrees. This meant that we had to work quickly as Unitys outfit for
the scene was not very practical for this weather. It was also slightly rainy and overcast but as most of the
filming took place inside the tunnel this didnt affect us much.
The weather also meant that we were completely undisturbed during the filming as no one was walking
around. The dull natural light did however make the orange lighting from the tunnel a little bit
overpowering so I will have to attempt to edit this slightly in the final production.
I was able to borrow a 35mm lense from school which was incredibly beneficial in helping with the lighting.
It also meant that I was able to use the manual focus more effectively which I was less confident about
when using the kit lense previously.
