Directions: Listen to the teacher read The Very Hungry Caterpillar: By Eric Carle. After
the teacher is finished reading, read the questions and write down your answers in

Scoring: The students will be assessed on their ability to produce grammatically correct

Example: The teacher will model the writing assignment before handing out the
assessment. The teacher will use The Rainbow Fish as an example. The teacher will show
the cover of the book and go over the author and title of the book. The teacher will then
model reading the questions and writing in complete sentences.
