sewage and septage management.
c. Zero Open Defacation Program (Dalisay, 2010)
d. Botika ng Barangay managed by a registered Pharmacist for accessible medical
products like metronidazole, Oresol and zinc supplements.
e. Diagnostic laboratory with adequate supplies and equipment for the diagnosis of
intestinal parasite.

HEALTH WORKFORCE

a. Physician/MHO for the assessment and management of amoebiasis, and training of


BHW for early detection, diagnosis, management, referral and surveillance of
amoebiasis.
b. Medical Technologists for the laboratory diagnosis of amoebiasis.
c. Community Health Nurse for nursing management and case detection of
amoebiasis.
d. Barangay Health Workers must be trained for early detection, diagnosis,
management, referral and surveillance of amoebiasis.

III.

INFORMATION

a. Partnership with private sector to provide materials for awareness raising that may
include streamers, posters, leaflets, etc.
b. Physicians and other health workers may be given continuing education on the
diagnosis and management evidence-based medicine in clinical decision making.
c. Health Education and information dissemination focused on prevention and control
measures.
d. Reporting and data collection
e. Record keeping for epidemiologic purpose

a. Oresol for dehydration (1 liter of water, 6 teaspoon of sugar, teaspoon of salt)


b. Botika ng Barangay (BnB) managed by a registered Pharmacist for accessible

c. Diagnostic Laboratories (Direct fecal Smear facilities)
d. Mobile water treatment system
