Entry # 8

1. For a person to have a learning disability you would often find it hard to
learn at the same pace with your peers at school or in the workplace. Just
like in the content we learned this includes tasks with involving emotional
intelligence and academic intelligence. For example
executive functioning, processing speed, memory, attention, metacognition,
reading comprehension, mathematical computation and etc. With my own
experience I have a learning disability. I found this out when I was in 5th
grade at school. I found it hard to learn fast in a class like math and English
in a normal classroom
5.. But when Im with a small group of students or when I have the tools that
I need to help me learn I find it easier. For me I developed skills like learning
Im an audio and kinesthetic learner. What Ive been told is that a learning
disability is just another way to learn differently.
2. Giftedness from the class content defines as a tremendous natural
intellectual ability in one or more areas. There are also 5 main theories of
giftedness such as the triarchic theory, multiple intelligence, the ring
definition, psycho social definition and develop mentalist position. How I
describe giftedness is a strength and a talent in a skill you were born with. A
lot of people would want their child to be known as gifted in something but
for me I dont think If I were to have a child I wouldnt want him/her to be
labelled as anything because that does not define who they are. That can
lead to a lot of pressure and become afraid of failing and not trying at all.
3. A child prodigy is someone who already developed a skill at a young age
or already has a skill when they were born from their parents. A person from
the internet that is a child prodigy is a young pianist name Evan Lee. He
began playing piano only at 4 years old and was able to play by ear after
hearing his older brother play a scale on the piano. He then mastered
Beethovens pieces and Mozart and even played at an symphony.

4. Ungifted is someone who learn things quite slow and doesnt have a lot of
skills. Multiple intelligence is having 8 skills such as linguistic, music,
mathematical, sports, people smart and etc. EQ intelligence is being able to
relate to one another and understand common feelings we experience every
day and Academic intelligence is when your process information faster and
remember.

5. Intellectual disability is when you only understand a very small

vocabulary, difficulty using utensils and stationary things ex scissors, cant
do simple tasks like write your name and has trouble memorizing things. This
can be difficult in the real world because there are a lot of small tasks that
we can do but they cant and require assistance with the little things
Part B
1. What I learned about intelligence after completeing this entry is that
there are many types of disabilities and gifted intelligences. Everyone is
different and there are some pros and cons about being gifted or a prodigy.
2/3 What I learned about myself/ completing this entry is finding more about
my own learning disability and different ways it can affect me in every little
small day tasks and wen I am at school.
4. How I can use this success in future entries is being more creative and
researching more about the topic/ asking questios.
