Question 1-4

We have chosen causes of truancy as our topic for our researched. Our
research take place at Universiti Tun Hussein Onn Malaysia (UTHM), Batu Pahat,
Johor. Our objectives doing this research are to determine what causes of truancy in
UTHMs students, investigate which truancy in UTHMs students and discover the
steps to overcome this problem. We have decided to choose 50 UTHM students as
our respondent. We used interview and survey method to collect data for our
research. Our research held at Pusat Niaga Siswa (PNS) and Tun Syed Nasir (TSN)
during 15 and 16 May 2016
There are 30 male students and 20 female students involved in our research.
They become our respondent for this research. We have ask them about truancy in
UTHM and also give them survey form that required them to fill in.It is about 90% of
the respondent are less than 25 years old. Most of them are diploma and degree
students. It is found that 15 FKMP students, 13 FKEE students, 10 FKAAS students,5
FPTP students and 6 Central of diploma. Students are involved for our project.
Based on the interview , most of them have ever skip the class without any suitable
reason. It is due to complete the another task, sleep late , lazy to go to the class
and others.
