Strengths of the lesson:
Good introduction by making LO clear, rules of the class
Very good modelling of the days activity and how each section of the worksheet was to be
completed. All expectations (e.g. punctuation for comma and fullstop) were reviewed. This
was a good solidification of past concepts and its incorporation into todays lesson.
Good use of seat work to ensure Ss that were on task and producing work at the desired
quality (e.g. writing the date and LO first into their book). Seat work was also used to
scaffold students learnings towards the LOs.
The worksheet did a good job to jump from yesterdays description of a dog to todays
LOs
Good wrap up where students were allowed to read their responses. Great teacher language
she will read her description, listen for her descriptive words, put in the punctuation for
her again great modelling of desired outcomes.

Areas for development:


Work on ensuring that transitions from plenary to small group work are smooth
The lesson plan is complete. However, be more descriptive about exactly what activities are
taking place at each stage. Include too your exact teacher language.

General Comments:
Good planning
Good modelling of LOs and all activities
Use group work more effectively to build towards LOs
Work on classroom management during transitions
