Evaluative Statement
The work I decided to use as my sample work was my Eminem Essay. I felt that this was
the first paper that really pushed my creative writing skills. For the first time in almost 4 years, I
had to write a paper that wasnt a literary analysis, a historical analysis or a theory of knowledge
paper. I kept noticing the literary aspects of eminems life and analysing those while also trying
to make it a paper about the city. The comments I recieved after I turned in the paper were also
about how my paper could have been an A paper if it weren't for the fact it was a very literary
paper instead of a city paper. I realized then that this was the beginning of my journey to become
a more flexible analyser and writer. I also learned that I need to look at more than just the literary
aspects of a paper and look into it with more depth in order to analyse it in a greater depth.
