Young Diplomats' Community (YDC)
"Let me lead my life"
Young Diplomat

Let me be as organized as I took my own life ......

Standing near the edge of Higher Studies, how many dreams are murdered? Is
there any statistics of that? How many of the students who had the ambition to
study in Fine Arts can eventually admit in the Institute? Or the boy who had the
ambition to do something for the society, have to study a boring major. Thus, just
to keep parents happy, boy interested in History gets admission in Engineering or
Law. And it was just because good job cannot be found by studying History! In this
regard, how far he could go where he had no interest? Have you ever thought of?
Catching a fish from a river and putting him in an aquarium will make fishs world
limited to a wall of glass. But can you make it climb a tree then? Is it possible for
it? Obviously not. However, why you are not thinking of your child in the same
way? Isnt he being a fish out of water when you are imposing your own desire
upon him? He might also have a vision. Cant you be in side in his walk?
In the context of Bangladesh, every parent desires his/her child to study
Engineering or Medical Science. But not every child is born with the same talent,
nor the place of interests are same. Some excelled in music, but when he is being
forced to read Engineering, or any other discipline, it never grows any love to the

discipline, only disgust is grown. Results laxity and bad results. But the thing that I
love is the love that does not require a new dimension, better results are still bound
to be the center of interest.
Similarly, the work of the university is not just teaching, University sow the seed
of dream in the heart of the students. As part study, a student familiarize himself
with the outside world, blooms a new entity, recognizes himself anew, by keeping
the commitment of the society, working for the welfare of the society of human.
These experiences work in the subsequent career.
Keeping this thinking in mind, Young Diplomats' Community (YDC) is working
on an initiative named "Let me lead my life". From October 3, the first day of
admission test of The Chittagong University, Young Diplomats are working
towards creating awareness among parents through a short video clip. The
initiative will continue until October 30, the last day of admission test.
