ECOLOGIC MODEL

A.

HYPOTHESIS
This model is primarily used in predicting illnesses rather than
promoting wellness, although identification of risk factors that result from
interaction of agent, host, and environment are helpful in promoting and
maintaining health. Because each of the agent-host-environment factors
constantly interacts with others, health is an ever changing state. Health is
seen when all three elements are in balance while illness is seen when
one, two or all three elements are not in balance.
In relation to that, the patient has improper lifestyle including
unhealthful eating habits and lack of exercise or sedentary lifestyle.
Moreover, the patient is stressed with her family relationship. These
factors may have contributed to the imbalance of the lever which further
led to an occurrence of the disease.

B.

PREDISPOSING FACTORS
1 HOST
A. Improper way of life which involves sedentary lifestyle
B. Family history of hypertension (cardiovascular condition)
2 AGENT
A. Improper nutrition of the patient including unhealthful eating
habits (fond of eating salty foods but seldom eats fish and
vegetables) and also excessive consumption of soft
drinks/soda (may lead to alteration of blood glucose and
blood consistency)
3 ENVIRONMENT

A. Socio-economic the patient belongs to a below-average


class family and according to her, they have this financial
problem.
B. Biologic the client, according to her, is stressed by her
current family relationship more particularly their parent-child
relationship.

ECOLOGIC MODEL
The Web model shows the relationship among the three
predisposing factors mainly agent, host and environment which also
determines their imbalance that may lead to an occurrence of a disease.
This primarily talks of the multiple causation of the disease.
The diagram below shows the possible imbalance of the
predisposing factors.

hearts inability to pump sufficient blood to meet the bodys needs.

CONCLUSION
In conclusion, improper lifestyle of the patient which embraces
sedentary lifestyle or lack of exercise, and unhealthful eating habits
including too much consumption of salty foods, infrequent drinking of
water, too much drinking of soft drinks and occasional eating of fish and
vegetables led to the occurrence of the patients condition of congestive
heart failure. A history of cardiovascular condition (hypertension) in the
clients family may have also contributed to the occurrence of the disease.
In addition, her stressful environment which comprises her relational
conflict with her parents and their financial problems took part as well in
the development of her disease.

F.

RECOMMENDATION
Modification of lifestyle including drinking enough amount of water
(at least 8 glasses) a day, limiting intake of soft drinks and salty foods,
exercising daily and eating a lot of vegetables as well as fish (which
means decrease consumption of cholesterol laden foods) is highly
recommended to alleviate if not eradicate the condition of the patient. In
addition, regular check ups would monitor the patients health condition
and would more likely prevent the aggravation of the disease.
