SUMMARY
A) TOPIC: “SPEED AND ACCURACY IN RELATION TO SEX,
INTELLIGENCE AND ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT ”.
B) INTRODUCTION :Man is a unique product of his creation and
evolutions. In contrast to other forms of animal life, his more highly
developed nervous system has enabled him to develop sounds and
symbols that make possible that the communication and recording of
his questions, observations, experiences and _ ideas. It is
understandable that his greater curiosity implemented by his control of
symbols would lead him to speculate about the operation of the
universe, the great forces beyond his own control
individual's differ physically, mental socially, emotionally and
with regard to their speed and accuracy. Individual differences are due
to genetic fact as well as psychological factors, social, economic
cultural and geographical factors are also responsible for individual
differences. These factors influence one’s level of intelligence
achievement, one’s way of living, thinging and one’s way of doing
accurately and speedly.
Students who have high intelligence and high
level of achievement are likely to excel in sped and accuracy than the
children having low intelligence and low level of intelligence. Students
having a greater degree of achievement motive are found to have a
peculiar level of intelligence. intelligence has its influence on the speed
and accuracy of such students.
The terms intelligence, achievement and speed and
accuracy are very close to each other. One's speed and accuracy
49depends on his intellectual ability. A student with high intellectual power
can do any work accurately and in a proper speed.
C) AIMS OF THE STUDY:

To identify individuals possessing high intelligence high academic
achievement as well as low intelligence and low academic
achievement.
To find out significant differences between boys and girls on the
dependent variable i.e. speed and accuracy
To find out whether there are significant differences between high
intelligence and low intelligence students on speed and accuracy.
. To study the differences of high achievers and low achievers on
speed and accuracy scores
. To see the interaction effects on the dependent variable i.e. speed
and accuracy.
