A study of anxiety in relation to intelligence and sex
among higher secondary school students.
Introduction: -
Present education is child centered The ancient
environment of Indian society was such type which ignored
the fair sex. This ignorance created inferiority complexes
among girls which caused anxiety.
The girls have been dominated for a long time.
Therefore, it is considered that the anxiety is more manifest
among the girls than the boys.
Keeping in view the above lines one of the challenging
problems faced today seems to be that of accurate prediction
of intelligence of boys and girls.The present age has been called the age of anxiety. It
seems to be the dominant factor and is threatening to be the
dominant cliché of modern life.
Freud considered anxiety as the crucial problem of
emotional and behaviour disorders.
Anxiety occurs when the need of an individual ego are
threatening. Generally, unformulated, uneasiness,
apprehension which the individual holds.
In view of these factors, it is of vital importance for an
educator to understand the intelligence of bys and girls, for
they need special attention in order to develop healthy
personality to become creative and useful members of the
society. This clearly stressed the need of the study of their
anxiety level, their proper adjustment in school and in the
society.
Objectives of the study
The main objectives of the present study are as: -
1. To identify students having high and low
intelligence.2. To study whether significant difference exist in
anxiety among high and low level of intelligence.
3. To study whether significant sex difference exist
among adolescent boys and girls.
4. To study the double interactional effect of sex and
intelligence on anxiety as the dependent variable.
5. To suggest some educational implications of the
present study.
Statement of the Problem: -
In the light of the above facts the investigator
selected the following problems for the present study: -

and low intelligent students in anxiety.
2. There will be no significant differences between male
and female students in anxiety.
