Due to their close evolutionary relationship

with humans, use of non-human primates
(NHPs) is one the most controversial areas
in biomedical research. NHPs (monkeys,
apes and chimpanzees) are used in toxicity
testing and various infectious disease and
reproductive studies. The debate on use of
NHPs in biomedical research is very
complex with some in favor or against their
use in research.
Since 2006, America has been observing
the third week of October as Save for
Retirement Week. But as Reuters reports,
just a reminder in the calendar may not
yield the desired result. It is clear from The
Investment Company Institute data that
there is a yawning gap between the
retirement savings of the affluent
households with an income in excess of
$200,000 and those of the more modest
households with an income between
$45,000 and $69,000.
